Punin\u2019s granddaughter; St. Petersburg Art and Industry Academy), Nicola Kozicharow (University of Cambridge), John Milner (The Courtauld Institute of Art), Nicoletta Misler (Instituto Universitario Orientale, Naples), Natalia Murray (The Courtauld Institute of Arts), Roberta Reeder (Artistic Director of Musica Venezia), Andrei Tolstoy (Deputy Director of the Pushkin Museum, Moscow); Tatiana Verizhnikova (Academy of Arts, St. Petersburg)<\/div>\n<p><p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/mws-11104.mws3.csx.cam.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/RussianCultureinExile2-3nov12-posterprog8-1.pdf\">Download Programme<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mws-11104.mws3.csx.cam.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/RussianCultureinExile2-3nov12-AbstractsREVISED-1.pdf\">Download Abstracts<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Conference Summary<\/strong><br \/>\nIntended as a broad interdisciplinary project, this conference will be\u00a0dedicated to the Russians who left after 1921, and who used to say: \u201cWe are\u00a0not in exile, we are on a mission\u201d; and those who stayed behind and, like\u00a0Nikolay Punin, were condemned to internal exile and persecution.\u00a0Potential subjects to be examined in the context of this conference include:\u00a0the struggle of the Russian composers, historians, politicians, artists,\u00a0art-critics, philosophers, scientists and writers to adapt to the new life\u00a0in emigration, or under the new regime in the Soviet Union.\u00a0How did those who left and those who stayed behind adapt? Did they adapt?\u00a0What compromises did they have to make, and what effect did this have on\u00a0their work?<\/p>\n<div>This conference is also planned to coincide with the launch of Dr Natalia Murray\u2019s book\u00a0<em>The\u00a0Unsung Hero of the Russian Avant-Garde.
